Postmately skills for AI agents

Give your agent the rules of publishing, not just an API key. A Postmately skill explains which tools to call, in what order, and what each social network expects.

Three skills

postmately

Schedule and publish posts to TikTok, YouTube, Telegram, VK (page and communities), Pinterest, Bluesky and Mastodon; more networks open as each platform approves us. Validate a post, create it, reschedule it and read metrics over REST. Carousel and video generation is MCP-only.

Make and edit vertical videos on the user’s machine: cut talking-head takes, remove pauses and false starts, burn word-timed captions, build a video from scratch in the formats that work (a hook and an app demo or a hook and a wall of text from the free hook gallery, a promo on the beat, the founder’s takes on the beat), render 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, then publish through Postmately. Works best with a frontier model such as Claude Opus 5.5 in Claude Code.

smm-autopilot

Run a month of social media from one link. The agent builds a content plan, generates carousels and videos, validates every post, waits for approval, schedules through Postmately MCP and measures what worked.

How to connect

  1. 1. Create a key. In Postmately, open Settings, then API, and create a key. Keep it in the environment as POSTMATELY_API_KEY.
  2. 2. Connect MCP. Add https://api.postmately.com/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer $POSTMATELY_API_KEY.
  3. 3. Give the agent the skill. Point it to the Markdown file for posting or video, or paste the file into the agent’s instructions.
  4. 4. Ask for a draft. The agent lists channels, checks the rules, creates a draft and waits for your approval before publishing.

What the agent can do

Frequently asked questions

What is a Postmately skill? +

A skill is a Markdown file that tells an AI agent how to use Postmately: which tools to call, in what order, and which rules each social network has. The agent reads it and then publishes through MCP or the API.

Which agents are supported? +

Any agent that can connect to an MCP server or call an HTTP API. That includes Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and custom agents that can send a bearer header. ChatGPT and Claude.ai connectors need OAuth and are next.

Is the skill free? +

Reading the skill is free. Publishing uses the same plan and credits as the dashboard. Every plan includes MCP and API access.

Is my API key safe? +

The key stays in your environment as POSTMATELY_API_KEY. It can only reach the channels of its workspace. Do not paste it into a public chat or commit it to a repository.

Let your agent run the content

Connect MCP, give the agent a skill and keep the final approval in your hands.
